Moving to New Zealand, Part 1 - Introduction

In January of 2007, my wife Jayme and I left the United States and set out on an adventure of a lifetime.

Several years ago, through some sort of divine intervention, Jayme and I came to the conclusion that we wanted to live in the beautiful country of New Zealand. Even more odd then the very idea — we came to these decisions separately, only to discover later that we had both thought of moving to New Zealand…on the exact same day! Now, if you believe in signs (which I most certainly do), this should blow your mind!

After several failed attempts to enter New Zealand, ranging from studying abroad during our undergraduates to gaining work visas, we were finally able to find a way into the country. Jayme enrolled at Victoria University in Wellington while I applied for my holiday work visa.

So here we are — after several years of carrying this dream, it has become a reality. We decided to create a blog, one that would not only allow us to keep a record of our travels, but also one that would help others fulfill their own dreams of adventure.

I invite you to let us share our adventures with you. Feel free to ask me questions regarding New Zealand as well as questions regarding your own adventures. I will do my best to answer them all.

I hope you find it fulfilling and helpful, as well as a major encouragement to take the leap — and seek adventure.
