Early in World War Two, Conservative MP Winston Churchill was elected Prime Minister of Great Britain. This, his first speech before the House of Commons, was delivered on June 13, 1940. It is one of the greatest speeches ever delivered and features the phrase "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat."
