Dr. Laura, Dating a Younger Man

Dr. Laura: Alison, on line one, welcome to the program.

Alison: Thank you.

Dr. Laura: Thank you.

Alison: I'm 28. I'm starting a relationship with a 22 year old guy and I'm getting advice from my friends and my sister that he's too young. Dr. Laura: How long have you been dating him?

Alison: About a month.

Dr. Laura: And you haven't already experienced him seeming very young? Alison: No, I don't. Dr. Laura: Okay. Keep dating him. It will show up.

Alison: Oh, no.

Dr. Laura: It will show up.

Alison: I knew you were going to say that. I've heard you say that guys Dr. Laura: It will show up. Yeah, it will show up. You'll start feeling like you're dating your son. Alison: Oh, no.

Dr. Laura: Yeah, but it may take a while. Right now, you know, he's young and handsome and got a lot of energy and that's cool. At some point, you'll see he's very young. Alison: Okay.

Dr. Laura: That's not. I didn't say he was a bad person. I just said you'll see he's very young. At that point, you'll go okay; I know what they were talking about. But right now, you're just having fun. Alison: Okay.

So, your advice is have fun, but don't Dr. Laura: No, that was not my advice. It was not my advice to have fun.

Alison: Okay.

Dr. Laura: I didn't give advice to have fun. I said, what you don't get, you will see soon. Alison: Okay.

Dr. Laura: I didn't give you advice to have fun. I don't believe in playing with people.
