tdes, kiwano

A few months ago I found a strange-looking fruit at the supermarket.

They called it a kiwano . Apparently it's also known by other names such as horned melon , African horned cucumber and blowfish frui t. I think it's the coolest looking fruit I've ever seen.I cut it in half and ate it with a spoon. It has an interesting flavour, like a cross between banana, cucumber and lemon.

After I'd finished eating the inside, I used the hollowed fruit as cups for a banana smoothie. Beautiful.
