Moving to New Zealand, Part 3 - We Have Arrived

We Have Arrived!

Hello fellow adventurers!

I wanted to let you all know that we have arrived safely!

Plenty has happened, but I can't tell you a whole lot yet — we have yet to find accommodation, so all of our time is being spent in achieving that goal. We are hoping that today is the day, as we have set up several viewings. Just a quick bit of first impressions (this will be greatly expanded on the next post).

- It's true, the Kiwis are incredibly friendly! It's not unusual for Jayme and I to walk out of some establishment laughing — only because we were shocked at the kindness of everyone! More on this later.. - It is absolutely beautiful here. The pictures we have looked at the past few years did not do New Zealand justice. We are still in disbelief as we walk down Oriental Bay in Wellington. Wow.

- It is very laid back here. This is of course, a double-edged sword. It's wonderful when you are wanting to have a relaxing day — but when you are trying to get something important done (i.e. find accommodation), it can be a bit frustrating! We were trying to find breakfast this morning (7:30am) for example — the only thing that was open was a McDonalds, and it was full of drunk guys from the previous night, checking out my wife! (Mind you, they were all VERY friendly, and complimented me for having such a beautiful wife..) There is plenty more to come — I will speak of everything in more detail (we have a lot to tell!) Wish us luck on finding a place to stay…
