tdes, Hardest Thing About English

Hi, I'm Sarah, welcome to The Daily English Show. It's a new week, so it's time for a new poll on thedailyenglishshow.com. But first let's have a look at the results from last week. The question was: What's the hardest thing about English? There were 35 votes and the winner was: listening.

listening 13 37.1% speaking 12 34.3 grammar 7 20 writing 2 5.7 something else 1 2.9 Thirteen people thought that listening was the hardest thing about English. And then came speaking, grammar, writing and something else. I wonder what that was … If you want to improve your listening, one thing that I really recommend is to listen to the radio or podcasts as much as you can. Even if you don't understand most of what they're talking about, just keep listening. There are so many radio stations and podcasts to choose from. So if you have any that you'd like to recommend to other people, please leave a comment. I definitely recommend the station that I usually listen to. It's called Radio New Zealand National, and especially the shows Afternoons and Saturday Morning. And speaking of Afternoons, I was actually on that show, very briefly, today, because I requested a song for a segment they have called: The Best Song Ever Written. I'll put a link to that next to the video, so you can go and check that out. And please go and answer the latest poll. The question is: What's the main reason you're learning English at the moment?
