Action Hello everybody, it's Val, yeah! Big Val! Yeah! Big deal! um... Anyway, it has been requested by many many people, too many people, that they want to hear more of me. Don't know why, I'm not that interesting of a person, at least I don't think I am but... A lot of people just love me so I should just be grateful that people love me... and they just want to hear more about me. So, I will ummmmm I will.... what should I say? I don't know! I will talk about something or other here and there.
First of all, let me show you, I have moved! I am no longer in my old room, that's why you are probably going to hear this terrible echo. I do not have a rug yet, sooooo I get this horrible little echo in my room and I really don't like it. But other than that the room is probably twice as big as what I had last time, you can see behind me this way. I've got my princess curtain almost all done and I want to, maybe one day, make some other curtains behind that. Make that very cute and pink and girly and... yeah, drive you all crazy with my girlyness.
And... my real goal is to have my room in a magazine. in like an interior design magazine. Which is crazy, because I am not much of an interior designer. If you want interior design, talk to my mother. my mother is the goddess of interior design. And it's just amazing. But like a typical Japanese apartment, you've got white walls. White, white white white! White white white! And, it gets kinda boring. I don't like the white. I'd like to have like a duel tone effect or something with a little bit more color, a little bit more life. But I'm sure my landlord company would just LOVE it if I were to paint my walls. Um hum, Sarcasm! You've got to learn to read it. Um so I'm probably going to make some curtains, I have some fabric that I bought a long long time ago. I was going to make a dress, but I haven't gotten around to it. I bought it like two years ago so...I think I'll just use that fabric, make some curtains, put it in the back behind the bed, make that look really cute and.. so on and so forth. By the way I am recording this in MP3 as well, I've got my recorder, my MP3 recorder right here, so what I will do is... I'll make a deal. For those of you who what to know what I am saying, understand what I'm saying... listen to my voice per say, umm, I will go ahead, I'll type this up as a little transcript. Not too long I hope because I don't want to spend that much time typing I've got too much time designing which i have to do instead because I'm a, I'm a graphic designer by heart. Yea!
So cute!
Anyway, I got, I got, I got this MP3 player here so it is recording into MP3 as well as Video. So you can watch the video at my blog and youtube and whatnot and so forth. But if you want to study the transcript you have to go to Lingq, you have to have an account, and you have to just find it at Lingq. It'll be there. And, you can study my voice. Yea!
So anyway, um since I do live in Japan eh! And it's now about 9:00 at night and I had a really really really busy day and my voice is kinda bleh (that's bad english don't say that my voice is bleh) Um, anyway, since I do live in Japan I thought every now and then I'll talk a little bit about some minute cultural differences. Just, just fun little interesting things, but you know Just take these like with a grain of salt, don't be too serious. I agree with Steve, in that the best thing for any sort of cultural, inner-cultural communication is, you know, just being and honest person and being sincere. Being sincere. The best way to communicate with anybody in the world, coming from Mr. I-speak-10-languges Steve Kaufmann, directly to me is just be sincere. And, yeah, there is little cultural differences and... just take them with a grain of salt. Don't worry too much about them, that's what that means by the way. And... One of the things... one of the things that really kind of bothers me around here is that there is NO express lane in the supermarket.
So the other day I was going to go to the supermarket, which is only three min..THREE minutes from my house, not two but three, So I was going to go to the supermarket because I really wanted strawberry ice cream, I was like MUST HAVE STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM and... I went I got my strawberry ice cream and there was like long lines and everybody's buying like, 50, 60, 70 you know, a million things! So I'm waiting in this long line and like my poor ice cream was just melting and melting away! And I was waaa behind this old lady and the store clerk was just, beep-beep, you know very very slow and I was just like my ice cream.... my ice cream's gonna melt... what am I gonna do? what am I gonna do? ahhhhh, you know. You know, typical Val, and if there was an express lane like there is in America you know, 10 items are less. Ok 1-2-3-4-5-6, OK GO! NEXT 1-2-3-4-5-6 OK GO! NEXT you know, I would've been out of the store in like 3 minutes and back home and my ice cream would've not melted. But alas I had to wait for everybody with their 3 weeks supply of shopping for a family of 10 you know.. more sarcasm. (cough) And It got kind of annoying, I wish there was an express lane at the supermarket here. And, Oh well, thats life. I got my ice cream I ran into one of my new friends and the station and I'm like I cant go now... oh my ice cream's melting! Ok see you later BYE. It was jut like BOOM really quick. That was pretty cool I guess but I made it home I put my ice cream in the freezer and my ice cream was saved, but I would have felt a little bit more secure if I had an express lane like they have in America.
But other than that you know, yeah, generally no problems. Generally I find that the supermarket cashiers they, everything is usually faster than it is in America, because in America your bagging the groceries... the cashier is bagging the groceries and that takes a lot of time you don't have that in america... anyway thats my little cultural thingy for today. I hope my hair is pretty I'm going to brush it a bit OK. And if people keep on requesting I will do more of these... If nobody want's to listen to me then nobody wants to listen to me. Ok, that's too much time. I gotta go now! Bye Bye
