De punt
De punt, ook bekend als de full stop in Brits Engels, geeft het einde van een zin aan. Punt wordt ook gebruikt om afkortingen uit te drukken, om hele getallen van decimalen te scheiden en om ellipsen te maken (drie punten die aangeven dat een deel van een zin ontbreekt).

De Komma

De dubbele punt
De dubbele punt is een leesteken dat voor een lijst of uitleg komt.

Het andere gebruik voor apostrofen is om bezit aan te geven:

Het koppelteken
Het koppelteken wordt in het Engels gebruikt voor samengestelde woorden en woordverdelingen.

Haakjes
