Vera's Diary for Beginners, VD # 016, By a whisker

VD # 016, By a whisker This morning I pick up my niece. I take her with.

She has to go to the city.

She has school.

She has a plant with her.

The plant is in a shallow dish.

We're driving on the highway. A car is coming towards me.

The car is in the middle of the road!

It's driving on my side of the road! There is a ditch on the right.

I cannot drive any further to the right.

The driver is not paying attention.

He is too far on my side.

There is a loud bang.

The mirrors ran into each other.

I am very frightened.

Now I'm finally awake. The car just keeps driving!

I stop.

The mirror is still whole.

There's only a scratch in the plastic. That was a blessing in disguise.

We are both okay.

Only the plant's dish has fallen over. My car is dirty.

But it can be cleaned again.

The most important thing is that nothing happened to us.
