It's just, it doesn't pay much, and, right now the economy in the U.S., as it is, it's not... you can't just be changing jobs, or whatever. He was doing the... 2 "part-time"s. You know, we hardly ever saw each other when he was doing that. We'd see each other just for a couple of hours during the week. Umm... so yeah, it's, he was doing that, but it just got too much, so now, he's doing just that one job... and he was going to take another job that paid a little more, umm, and it was just during the weekends and stuff, but, uuh, this other job, as the catering that he was doing was more, it's called Metropolitan Market. They offered him the same rate so he decided to stay. And they said they were going to give him more hours, which they have, they kinda have, so... Ester: Yeah Brenda: But, still, it's not enough cos, he's in debut with his car. Umm, he's paying his parents back for his car, (paying) his mum back for his car. Umm, rent and all that. He just finished paying off his phone bill. So he's got that back. But yeah.
Ester: He can't even "sponsor" you over. He can't even afford to sponsor you over, so, no matter what you can't get, a "green card" so it leaves out... Brenda: He couldn't. He can't, he couldn't afford to take me out for dinner. Ester: Yeah... Brenda: Unless he had to... Julie: Sacrifice? Brenda: Sacrifice! And use a coupon!
Ester: Yeah, so it's really hard. Brenda: It's really hard. Ester: You can't. He can't - he's not financially stable. Brenda: Yeah... Ester: And Brenda, you just need to think whether you want to wait for him, or not. It's not going to be so soon. Brenda: Yeah.
Ester: Yeah... I know where he's coming from now, yeah, cos... Julie: Yeah... Ester: He really can't support himself. I know a 36 year old who was broke and can't deal with it! So, let alone, you know, it's not the age thing and then... It's just too hard for him, and maybe he's that type of guy who, you know, he wants to, you know, pay for, you know, pay for your dinners, go if, you go out and do yourself up and stuff like that, but... I think he's just a little bit, umm, insecure?
