Sunday Kitchen #167 Kinpira Parsnip This is parsnip.
It's a bit old and shriveled, but it's still edible.
You can't buy gobo in New Zealand – well, not that I've seen anyway, but I'm sure it's available somewhere - so I decided to make kinpira gobo with parsnip instead of gobo.
Kinpira parsnip .
I cut up the parsnip and some carrots.
I put some sesame oil into a frying pan and added some chili.
And then threw in the carrots and the parsnip and put the lid on.
After a while I took the lid off and added some soy sauce.
A bit later I added some water.
I cooked it until it tasted like it was ready.
Then I put it on a plate and sprinkled sesame seeds on top.
It was very tasty.
