Learner of the Month, September 2005
Jason Qi is our Linguist Learner of the Month.
He is from Shanxi, China but now lives in Canada.
He immigrated to Burnaby (part of the Greater Vancouver Area) with his wife and son two years ago.
Jason works at a computer company as a computer engineer.
More than 95% of his customers only speak English.
Jason must be able to speak fluent English in order to communicate with customers and to get a better position at his company.
Jason remarks, "One of my customers recently told me my speaking in English has improved a lot after I used The Linguist System for about one month."
Jason was chosen as our Linguist Learner of the Month because of his willingness to put in a lot of time and effort in order to improve his English skills, thus leading to a better quality of life in Canada.
Jason works six days a week and still manages to spend time almost every day on the Linguist.
He is very active on our forum and our discussions.
In just three months, Jason has saved 2500 words and phrases and participated in 15 discussions.
He is always giving helpful advice to new members, both via the discussions and the forum.
Jason says, "I just want to say the open forum is my favorite.
I can post all of my questions and get the reply quickly.
I am also able to browse other members' questions and answers.
Furthermore, I can help others as long as I know the answer.
It might be another way to improve my English."
Jason continues: What impressed me mostly was the "review" section.
This sophisticated "review" subsystem has tracked my studying trail.
It lets me go over everything that I have studied and avoid to waste time on what I already know.
I hated to review before.
This amazing "review" function let me love to review what I learned every single day.
I really enjoy it because I am improving my English effectively with it.
To me, I don't think there is a shortcut to achieve English fluency.
However, an integrated learning system like The Linguist System really helps to save time.
