Blood circulates through the arteries and veins. The arteries carry pure blood to all parts of the body. The veins collect the impure blood and carry it to the heart. From the heart the blood goes to the lungs. In the lungs the blood is purified with the oxygen of the air we breathe. In the laboratory the blood is examined to see the condition of the red and white blood cells.
