What's New at the Linguist, May 2006

As some of you may know already, we are currently working on the new and improved Linguist system! We will, therefore, no longer be adding new features to our current system. We will of course continue to fully support our present system until our new system is operational. With that in mind, the only change of note this past month occurred in the Forum. Many of you have been asking us for a way to share your personal information with other Linguist Members without exposing this information to the web. We have enabled this by utilizing the My Profile area of the Forum. You will find this under User Settings in the Forum. Enter any information here that you would like to share with other Linguist members. This information is only available to logged in members.

With regard to our new version, which is due out sometime later this year, we would like your help and advice. We are launching a Member Advisory Group. We will be asking this group for suggestions, advice and feedback on new features. This feedback will mostly be in the form of short surveys. In addition, we will be asking members of this group to beta test our new version when it is ready. If you are interested in participating in the Linguist Member Advisory Group please email us at customer service to let us know. Help us make our new version the best that it can be!

Lastly, we've had some questions recently about our Tell a Friend program so here are the details again. Any time you recommend a friend who joins The Linguist and becomes an active, paying member you are entitled to receive one free month of Basic Membership (a $35 value). You will receive this for recommending as many friends as you want so you could easily be studying for free!

You may have noticed the Tell a Friend email form on the front page and in the member area. This is an easy way of telling your friends but how you get your friends to join is up to you. When your friends join they should put your name or email address in to the referrer field on the registration page. You or your friend can also send us an email to let us know. Do what works for you. You'll receive the reward no matter how you do it.
