Often, opposing team supporters' fight at football games. Sadly, in this way, football has been the cause of violence and fights. But this is not always the case. In some cities football has helped prevent violence. One of these towns is Medellin, northwestern Columbia, in South America.

Some people call Medellin the 'eternal spring. ' - the spring that never runs dry. The Andean mountains surround the city. And the climate of the land is almost perfect. But the local people have a different name for their city. They call it, ' the city of eternal gun fire. ' The people of Columbia have lived with conflict for forty years. This war kills almost thirty thousand people every year. A million-dollar drug business pays for the rebel armies. In Medellin, fifteen people are killed every day.
